One of the Internet's major advantages is the fact that you can read only the news you are interested in. What's more, RSS readers can provide you with all the news you want automatically, so you don't have to search through countless pages on your web browser. Vienna can make this experience as comfortable as possible. It allows you to categorize your feeds in groups or smart folders, share articles on social networks and much more. The software is offered free of charge and you can have it up and running on your Mac in no time.

Vienna displays your feeds on a Finder-like window, on which you may create folders and smart folders. Feeds can be sorted and moved into folders by simply clicking and dragging them. Besides regular folders, you can also create smart folders, which are populated automatically with articles that meet one or more user-defined conditions. Selecting a feed will display its article titles and the articles themselves, on separate panels, on the right side of the interface. Feeds are updated automatically, according to a schedule, but you can also update them on demand, just by clicking a button. Unread articles are marked and highlighted, to make them easier to spot and you can also filter them by various criteria or search for specific titles.

New feeds can be defined on a small panel. Besides URLs for RSS feeds, you can also type or paste usernames, if you wish to follow someone on Blogspot, LiveJournal, Xanga or MSN Spaces. It is also possible to specify a path to a file, from a local folder. Articles can be flagged and marked as read or unread. If you wish to read an entire article, you can right click its title and select an option to jump to its source page. The software comes with a built-in web browser, so the source pages are displayed on the same interface, on a separate tab.

One of Vienna's central features is the possibility of sharing articles on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and other social networks. All you have to do is select a title and click one of the buttons on the toolbar, according to which network you wish to connect to. Sending articles directly to Safari's reading list is another possibility. The software provides many other features, for printing articles, importing or exporting feeds and performing other actions. The best part is that everything is very well organized and it doesn't take long to master Vienna's controls.

Pros

Vienna comes with an intuitive user interface. You can sort and filter your feeds and articles without any effort. Besides reading the latest news or other articles, you can also share them on various social networks.

Cons

There are no serious issues to mention. Vienna's smart functionality enables you to keep up with the latest news and blog posts in a comfortable and elegant fashion.
